Has anyone out there tried the long awaited Oriental Fiber Base inkjet paper? I just got a 10 sheet package from B&H. 8.5"x11" FB Glossy. I do not currently have my 1160 printer setup with MIS UT but I will soon. I can't tell right now how those inks will work with the new paper. Some observations... After reading posts on how this paper was supposed to mimic the look and feel of traditional Fiber prints I was surprised to see that the paper is actually more glossy than I had expected. Air dried FB darkroom prints have a dull gloss to them. This paper has a higher gloss.. closer to the gloss that you get with RC print. I printed an image on it with my Epson OEM inks. The look and feel of the paper reminds me a lot of a Webber Valentine (jpg-206) that I printed on several years ago. However that is just a surface observation. The enclosed Oriental Spec sheet says the paper has been developed for pigment ink. So.. the real test will be in how it takes those inks. Has anyone made prints on this new paper?
