Were you seeing banding at "1440x720 Highest Quality" or just at the  
plain 1440x720 setting?  I've been using the 1440x720 Highest Quality   
setting with QTR and see no banding.  I use the letter paper thickness  
setting when printing EEM through the sheet feeder and the envelope  
setting for heavier papers via rear feed manual slot.
