RE: [Digital BW] Re: Premier paper and UT

2003-11-20 by Paul Roark

I have PremierArt curves for the 1280 that takes care of the coolness of
this paper. (I also have curves for UltraSmooth -- the same paper from what
I can see -- for some other printers). The dmax was about 1.62 --
competitive with many cotton papers, but not up to EEM or PhotoRag (usually
about 1.68 & 1.66, respectively, with the 1280 & Eboni).

A shiny black is usually a sign of over saturated paper, and it will
actually lower the dmax. I have not seen with the Epson driver.

What I've noticed with this paper and the UT inkset is that the dmax
is a lot lower than with EEM. It prints too cold for my taste.

The same thing has been noticed on the Piezo list with the Piezo-
Tones inkset.

Cheers,
Andre
