As moderator I would request that people limit the amount of an earlier post that gets repeated as a thread progresses. Just leave enough so that people will understand your reply. The less cluttered the archive is, the easier it will be for people to search for information. One thing that I used to see in lists were: SNIP, (Snip), (Snip Earlier) To indicate that portions of the preceding message that you were replying to had been removed for the sake of brevity and letting people know that they could look in the earlier message if they wanted the full text. Whether the response comes before or after the message you are replying to is a matter of personal choice. I vary it myself. If the original message or topic is short, before works great. If you are replying to a long message in sections then after seems to be easier to follow.
