Re: head alignment problem with eboni UT

2004-02-08 by klog52756

I have found, assuming I was seeing the same problem with my work,
as you are seeing with your work, the importance of printing at 360
DPI v. 300 DPI. Notice that all Epson printer resolutions going with
the travel of the print head, AND with the travel of the paper feed
are multiples of 180. My 1280 is 180,360,720,1440,2880 in the
direction of the print head, and I believe 720 in the direction of
the paper feed. I think (have heard and now confirmed by my own
tests) that printing at ANY resolution other than one that is evenly
divisble by 180, causes a problem with the dither pattern AND/OR the
ability of the driver to MICROWEAVE, especially in the direction of
the paper feed. I was getting faint hints of lines, patterns sort
of, parallel to the direction of the print head travel,
perpendicular to the direction of the paper feed. I changed the
resolution in PS to 360 (a multiple of 180), and the print is smooth
as silk. Give it a try, it might solve your problem. Hope it does.

All the best,
kevin logan
