Hi Bob, Since you mentioned the CoolScan 9000 I'm assuming you're interested in scanning medium format negatives and slides. Having an interest in doing the same, I picked-up a 4870 about 2 weeks ago and am very pleased with the results. I have a 35mm neg/slide scanner, so I'm using it almost exclusively for medium format, however, with a fair amount of Unsharp mask in Photoshop it does a satisfactory job with 35mm slides as well. DigitalICE is phenominal and has already saved me several hours of clean-up in Photoshop. Overall, a great scanner at a great price! In case you haven't seen it - here's a really good 4870 review: http://www.photo-i.co.uk/Reviews/interactive/Epson%204870/page_1.htm --- In DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com, "iceman15613" <rwshearer@c...> wrote: > Does anyone have any thoughts on the Epson 4870.
