I haven't had the 4870 for long.
I can say that it is much improved from the 3200.
I scanned numerous 4x5 chromes this week. The real optical resolution 
is probably not much better than my 3200, but that ICE sure is nice :-)
The larger film scanner area will be a real timesaver i.e. two 4x5 at 
once instead of just one.
Sorry, no B&W negs yet. However, I will report on that soon.
