No kidding but then how does that explain why the prints made on my 870, which uses basically the same dye-based inks as the 1280, and which have been sitting out under fluorescents for the same amount of time look unchanged? And besides, even dye-based prints should last for more than 2 years, especially in a drawer. My point is that there must be other factors that we just don't understand that are affecting print longevity. And until we DO understand those factors trying to predict what's going to last 35 years, or 50 years or 100 years is pure hubris.
