Hello I have used osprey velvet a lot. I have it profiled with UT inks using QTR on an epson 1200. Its a nice paper for certain uses. Its dmax is low, like 1.48 or so, if i try to bump it up while profiling it just creates a glossy build up that looks bad. Also printing big areas of black can result some weird white streaks, not banding lines but almost feathery swilrs. So for photos with lots of black or wide dynamic range I don't recommend it at all. But its midtones are fantastic and long. So for low contrast subjects that need long subtle midtones it is quite nice. The feel is nice too, Hawk Mtn's Merlin is one of the stiffest sheets I know of while Osprey is one of the "floppiest" its almost fabric like. hope that helps john e --- Arthur Fink <arthur@...> wrote: > Anybody have any experience to report with this > paper, or the other Osprey > Velvet (made by Hawk Mountain)? > > A r t h u r F i n k P h o t o g r a p h y > ................................................. > Ten New Island Avenue \ufffd 207.766.5722 > Peaks Island, Maine 04108 \ufffd arthur@... > > > __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
