Hi fellow listers; I have been using MIS UT2 inks in my Epson 1280 for a while and love the prints I can make with these inks, however I am having one MAJOR problem in using the inks in MIS loaded cartridges. I have noticed that when I go to install a new cartridge and peel the tape off of the vent holes, I get a very noticeable sucking sound ( a lot more than with OEM carts ). I also notice ink that has been sucked up out of the vent holes. I think this is creating lots of air / bubbles inside the cartridge chambers. I then get many BAD nozzle checks. Since air bubbles are causing the problem rather than clogs, cleaning cycles do not help. The only solution I have been able to find is to wait 1-3 days for the bubbles to dissipate and then I get a good nozzle check. But waiting severals days every time I need to change a cartridge is not a really good option. Sometime you just want to make a print! I don't want to go with a CIS because I sometimes go for long periods without printing. Is anyone else having this problem? Is MIS doing something wrong on their end with the filling process to cause this problem? On a more positive note... once I do get a good nozzle check I have no further problems. I have left my printer idle for 3 weeks. When turing it back on after this prolonged period I almost always get a good nozzle check. Thanks in advance for your thoughts! -Jeff
