Interesting development I did a test this morning to test a hunch. If you have been following my threads this week you know that MIS sent me a set of UT inks that had an improperly filled LM cart that had cool instead of sepia toner. They verified this and sent me out a new batch of inks. I pulled the original set out and installed the replacement set. It is with this set that I have been proceeding to calibrate this week and having no end of trouble getting sufficient blacks. After exhausting every possible technical angle I went to the trash can and dug out the LK cart from the first set of inks. I replaced the LK cart, ran a couple of head cleaning cycles, and printed out a new calibration page. There were still streaks in the LK wedge, but, as I had to rush to catch my train, I read the 100% patch even with the minor streaks and ----- 1.5 density. Apparently there was PK ink in my Eboni cart! Will this never end?
