Hello All, This is my first posting to the group - thanks for being there! After Roy was kind enough to help me with a glitch (my fault!) I finally got QTR for Windoze to print for me and I'm impressed! I used Epson Enhanced Matte paper and the print is as neutral as Switzerland! Roy did a great job. Since he's out of town for a week, I thought I might run a few questions by the group if I may. 1) I'm one of those weird people who like to print B&W on glossy paper (I like how the blacks look) and there's obviously no profile for Epson's PGP. Is it inadviseable to use the EM profile but stick glossy paper in the printer? Might I experience a meltdown and catch my hair on fire? 2) I'm fuzzy on how one might use larger paper sizes loaded from the manual slot behind the printer. When using Epson's driver, I have to tell it to pull the paper from the rear, and while I see in the batch file QTR supports bigger paper sizes, I can't see where to tell it to pull that paper from the manual feed slot in the back of the printer. 3) Probably only Roy could answer this, but is support for either of Epson's Semi-gloss or Premium Lustre papers in the works? 4) I tried using the QTR GUI this morning too and it almost worked! The printer only printed about 3/4ths of the print though and stopped. 5) Does QTR use all of the Epson inks to get such a neutral print? Finally a last observation. A couple of month's ago, due to the 2200's less than stellar B&W performance with Epson drivers, I bought an HP 7960 printer and was totally blown away by the B&W prints. Even though QTR seems to perform as "advertised", I still prefer the HP prints. I suspect that's a paper issue for me though and not the fault of QTR. To me, the HP papers look better than Epson's Enhanced Matte paper. HP's "matte" looks more like Epson's Premium Luster to me, and HP's "pro" glossy papers just look amazing. Again, I suspect this is perhaps just a personal preference thing - some may like Enhance Matte, but I'm just not a big fan - I find the tonal gradations of the HP/Glossy combination look better to my eye and thus my question about using different papers with QTR. Thanks in advance for any suggestions/comments. Ol' Roy deserves a medal! ;-) beau :) [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
