Yes - go to your Settings/Printer/Properties/Advanced and there you have the option of selecting Print direct to printer or Spooling. There is also another option further down labelled Advanced Properties. I seem to remember some people curing problems by unchecking this. If you use the help question mark on it, you will see that it gives you options such as booklet printing, but does say that turning it off might cure some 'compatibility' problems.
