Hi all, I am a film shooter that needs to create digital negatives for contact printing using alt-photo techniques. The problem is that I shott 35mm film and need to create negatives of up to 8" x 10" or larger for contact printing. I will be using an Epson 1290 for the negative output but am stuck on the input side of the equation. Right now I am leaning towards the Nikon Coolscan V ED ($ 899.00 CAD) as it seems to have the colour depth and resolution I need for my output sizes. Do you folks have any suggestions about this purchase? Is this a good scanner - in real life use? Can it meet my needs. I am using the digital negative techniques developed by Mark Nelson in his ebook, Precision Digital Negatives. Thanks for any help or advice. Ehud circlesofconfusion.ca
