Re: Scanner suggestions?

The Nikon Coolscan V is an excellent 35mm scanner. The build quality
is the same as the higher priced Coolscan 5000, and the imaging is
just as good. Only in dense shadows will the 5000 fare slighly better
and I emphasize slightly.

The Nikon software that comes with it is also excellent: is has GEM
for noise/grain reduction and digital ICE for dusting. Others will
prefer Vuescan.

Scans of FP4+ (35mm) when printed at 16"x20" resemble same size prints
from 400 ISO MF films. BTW, I found that FP4+ is about the easiest
film to scan with this scanner.

YMMV,
