A few years ago when looking for directions to digital printing, I had corresponded with Tom Millea. At that time he was working with 35mm, Scala, a Polaroid SS35+ and an Epson Photo EX, I think. He told of how it was great to get out of the darkroom, away from the chemicals and he'd be working with Photoshop and enjoying the view from where he was sitting at the computer and at the same time making b&w prints. And when the Epson 1160 became available I acquired one along with a PiezographyBW CIS. Although there have been considerable progress since, I'm sure his early digital prints still hold their own today and he certainly did not complain about them not being sharp as they originated from scanned negatives. And, I'm sure there's a world of difference between this early Polaroid scanner and a Nikon Coolscan V. André Moreau
