I use Imageprint to do essentially this: to print desaturated images,
as well as B&Ws that 
have been "split toned".

For straight B&W I generally use the MIS EZW on a cheap C84 which
produces a nice warm 
carbon tone that I like. QTR is an excellent product ... it is just
that the MIS CFS is so much 
cheaper than replacing those expensive cartridges.
