Digital BW, The Print

"No body knows the answer to this one?"

Apparently not. I asked about a somewhat similar problem a couple days ago
and received three responses, for which I thank the three people who
responded but one didn't work, one isn't feasible for me,  and while I'm
trying the third (switching papers) I'm not optimistic. As a last resort I'm
going to try making some changes to the Roark curves but since I'm a novice
at that kind of thing I have a feeling that isn't going to help either and
in any event that used to be unnecessary, once upon a time I got excellent
results without resorting to anything like that. Most likely I'll end up
switching to Cone inks, a friend using the same equipment I use gets
excellent results with them so I figure I can piggy-back onto his set-up and
knowledge.
