RE: [Digital BW] refill-friendly carts?

2004-11-17 by Jake Hellbach

Paul and David,
The re-setter I bought from MIS is the one that has the light that changes from red to green. I use in on
the 2200 empty carts I bought from them. I also used it on the original Epson carts and it works great
every time.

Now, if I could only get all the foam out the carts I would be back in business.
I did get an email from MIS tech support and the carts I bought was just before they got the clear ones. I
may buy those since the older ones like I have seem to have a lot of foam problems.

  David,

I don't know if the newer re-setters are better or not. MIS made a comment
to me that seemed to indicate the re-setter with the light that changes from
red to green as the chip is re-set is the best. I had several re-setters,
only one of which fit that description, and my batting average on resetting
in general was less than perfect. So, I started to use just the one with
the light that changes colors, and so far with the C86 chips it has been
successful every time. There may, however, be other factors, such as the
batch of C86 chips MIS sent.

So, I'd just see if yours works OK before replacing it.
