Re: UT7 & Curves (Digest Number 2622)

2004-11-22 by ArleneLoveL@aol.com

Clayton, With the UT7 and an Epson 7600, I've tried both Schwab's curves and
Pauls slider settings. I use HPR and HGerman Etching. I find that Smooth Fine
Art Paper setting gives a cleaner look than Enhanced Matte. I adjust Paul's
curves for a warmer tone: check color controls, C+9, M-9, Y+25 Bright-5. This
gives an almost sepia. Even stubborn wet printers grudgingly admit to the
beautiful tones these inks can produce. Schwab's sepia curve is a little too
brown for me, but his carbon curve is a muted warm, and the cool just a little
too blue-ish for me. I am extremely grateful to both of them and to you for the
help and education you've provided.
               Very best,
                    Arlene
