Hmm, I am not a Mac user, so helping my friend was a learning experience for me too. Our first print was also washed out. But then we did two things (1) make sure "same as source" in print priew, and (2) converted the grayscale file from 16 bits to 8 bits. I hope your file is in grayscale and not your defalut color space (RGB)? Our second print was perfect! Followed by many others using different blends of CoolSe, Warm etc. By the way, the coolse print should not be blue. If anything it should be slightly blue/magenta. If this does not help, it may be out of my league. Sorry.
