Yes, « preserve colour numbers » is checked.

I’m just glad that the profiles are behaving this way, it does help a lot to
apply a small “S” curve (pretty much the only thing I need to adjust with
QTR printing).

Not too unexpected, I'm sure Carl's profiles are all linearized, and
since QTR is linearized to LAB, always, the progression of tones
should be the same. Only hue, paper white, and ink black will vary in
a perfect world.

Well, there's not a huge difference, but you should see it. Are you
sure you are checking "preserve color numbers"?
