Thanks for the long reply- I think I know what you are talking about 
but not sure...My previous cis I think was a niagra and I had almost 
no problem with it. I replaced it with the unit Mis sales now and 
the carts came attached to the tubes, pre-filled, and theoretically 
ready to go. On my first clog I had a complete no black ink 
situation- Mis suggested it might be foam and described a fix 
similar to what you describe- I was unable to draw ink thru the 
bottom of the cart- I must have been doing it wrong but there was no 
way for me to pull ink from the bottom-it was as if i put my finger 
tip on the syringe and tried to pull air thru my skin-
nothing...could not get the syringe plunger to even draw...
I wound up replacing the carts and tubes with another pre filled set 
up and now within a month the yellow position is missing...all other 
positions are fuctioning -mostly- they show up on a nozzle check and 
then disappear again...I'll study your reply- I must be missing 
something..thanks again
