Hi Jack,

You are not alone. I recently installed MIS' CFS in a new 1280 and had the same problem 
with zero black ink coming out of the black head. Epson carts work fine by the way.

MIS sent me a pre charged black cart and tube...but I have not installed it as I really don't 
want to tape the new tube to the existing tubes. I might just pull the tube on the cart and 
install just the cart. But I'll make sure the original tube is not clogged.

I have three NoMoreCarts CIS' still working fine after many years of use and I think the MIS 
CFS is lacking in refinement. I believe MIS' bracket that holds the ribbon tubes is too low 
and needs to be about an inch or two higher as the tubes rub against the bottom of the 
printer which could lead to jamming if the silicon spray on the tubes wear off.
