David, The nice selection of curves is only available to 2200 users. People with lesser printers have to work with a smaller selection. I just spent the evening fixing my Kirkland workflow. Here's what I'm doing on my 1280 with UT2, Eboni black (you didn't specify what you have, I hope it's the same!) QTR Photo Quality Glossy Paper 1440 Resolution / Better Quality 60% UT2-EPremLuster-neutral-3 40% UT2-EPremLuster-carbon-3 Ink limit, gamma = 0 This gives a coldish print. Swap to 40%/60% for a warmish print (the differences are subtle). So far I have noticed very little difference between paper types (Luster, Photo Quality, Premium Glossy) but you may want to try them. You can try printing straight to QTR like this, but I had problems with tonal separation in the 30-40 range. You can try Roy's profile, which works for some of my pictures but not others. For images that need more low-end tonal separation I made a curve with a very sharp toe that solved the problem. Here's my Kirkland curve: 0->0 29->23 35->35 40->40 64->64 128->128 I have not fine-tuned this but it should be a good start. -Pieris digital darkroom blog: www.pmb.net/darkroom --- In DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com, "zdirk99" <ausdlk@s...> wrote: > > I know that this has been addressed many time here but I am unable > to find this info in the forum archives. > > The one posting from some months ago that I saved said to use "UC- > EPhotoPaper".
