The ink slots on the chipped printers are color specific: therefore you must re- chip the LC cartridge with a yellow chip. The chips can be purchased from MIS for a couple bucks. You could probably pull the chip from your existing Y cartridge as well. However, keep in mind that the ink usage is recorded on the chip as well, and unless your LC and Y cartidges are equally full, the printer will provide erroneous feedback on how much ink is in the cartridge. Alternatively, you could buy an empty Y cartridge, and fill it with LC bulk ink.
