Re: Refurbished printers

2005-02-19 by Christer Rosewelll

A friend of mine just bought a new 1280 thru Amazon - arrived DOA -
Dead on Arrival.

Epson wanted to charge his credit card $400 in order to send a
replacement overnight - a refurb one which my friend refused.

Next day - after several phone calls and hours on the phone - they
agreed to send him a new printer - 5 business days shipping.

A couple of years ago I had a run in with Epson - long story but after
3 months of getting nowhere, I told them it was either a brand new
printer - the new model I expected would come out very shortly - and
which they denied having any knowledge of at all - or I would turn the
matter over to my attorney as well as post it on all internet forums.

The next day they offered to send me a new printer of my choice - and
the week after that the 1280 came out - I then told them to ship one to
me and they did - overnight!..=*^)

When dealing with Epson you have to get past the first two levels in
order to get anything taken care of.
