I just received an intriguing message from MIS, indicating the availability of an apparently new Gretag-McBeth Eye One Design outfit, complete with software and spectrophotomenter, for $895. It claims the ability to profile CRT and LCD monitors, and both RGB and CMYK printers, using their so called "small chart" method. I wonder if any of the color management wise hands on this list have any experience with or impression of this equipment, and the likely accuracy of the profiles generated with it. It SEEMS on the surface like a new, lower priced entry into the spectro profile world. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Jack Winberg [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
