Digital BW, The Print

I am reading Tom Moore's tutorial on making curves for QuadToneRIP.  
One of the first steps is to print an ink Seperation Test Page.  Having 
selected the Options/Calibration mode as directed, and set the 
calibration slider all the way to the left (100) and clicking the print 
button, my Epson 2200 prints the Ink Pattern Page but using 
(apparently) only black and magenta inks. Ink 1 prints its step pattern 
in shades of light blue to dark purple.  Ink 2 is the same but lighter. 
Inks 3 to 7 all look much the same; white to dark red (magenta?).  Not 
at all what is illustrated in the tutorial.  Any ideas what the reason 
for this is??  Thanks,  Edward
