hold the paper flat and look across the surface as if it were a 
landscape with a light source in the background. One side will look 
like it has a skim of chalk over it and will have slight cellulose 
"clumping" of emulsion and the other side will reflect more glare and 
will have a more textured look. The chalky side is the side with the 
coating.  The Fibra paper is troublesome.
