Paul, I truly honestly wish you the best of luck/success with the Sepia version. I am likely to be one of your customers...oops...meant I was likely to buy that solution when it is ready and available from MIS...as I do want a sepia solution to have in addition to my Piezo inkset. I am glad you are working in that direction. Steve, you're sounding like a fellow economist or antitrust attorney. You took the words right out of my mouth. In fact, it is happening with or without Cone Edition's participation. The FS is, as a practical matter, a reverse-engineered inkset. When I designed the variable-tone inksets I started with Piezo ink because that is what I used. However, when doing the MIS version my experiments with various densities led me so close to the Piezo densities that I did take into consideration making inksets that could easily serve both workflows. The sepia-to-neutral variable-tone inkset that I'm working on is intended to give rise also to a neutral FS (Cone clone) type ink. The cyan-position inks are the same. Once I get the cyan to where I want it, it's easy to dilute for the magenta and yellow positions to make a Piezo-compatible inkset.
