Thanks Steve..

It's "often suggested" but I never really believed it was true... I
thought I was off into urban-scanning-mythologyland...

Did Nikon mention it somewhere... or is this just a wonderful bit of
Internet wisdom?

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
