Clayton, are you simultaneously testing various papers/pigs/dyes? If not, what paper are you testing here? Is "fading" really an issue with black "inks" (Vs pigs)? I'd have thought black, if significantly carbon, stayed black. If it fades in few centuries, doesn't that demonstrate that it's substantially something other than carbon? If substantially carbon I'd expect the paper to crumble first, along with the pyramids.
