Woody, there's an online calculator at this link: http://www.brucelindbloom.com/ once you get there, click "calc" in the menu bar. on the next page, click "companding calculator" which is the second from the top. in the calculator, enter your L values in the L value field, click on the L button, and it will calculate density. i found this calculator thanks to a mention by carl schofield, i think.
