That's because your neutral will have a discontinuous spectral distribution (3 peaks) which may reflect light very differently depending on the spectral makeup of the light source. Until some technology overcomes this basic principle, quad or hex grayscales will be superior to the best of ICC-managed gray mixes of CMY. Antonis
