As Harvey mentioned, don't forget the calibration issue.

I have been happy with my 19" Sony GDM-F400. Can't vouch for it's 
accuracy compared to other monitors but for accuracy I rely on good 
monitor calibration software and hardware to get the most out of what 
I do have. I just moved up from Monaco EZColor to ColorVision Optical 
with the monitor spyder and it looks to be a very good package.
