I have a 1160 that has come back from my local Epson technician with the news that the magenta head is, indeed, hopelessly blocked. I also have a bunch of spongeless carts, bottles of MIS UT-quad inks, and QuadToneRIP. I still want to make prints. I'd appreciate your comments on what I should do. So far, I have thought of these options: 1 Have the print head replaced. This is likely to cost as much as the printer is worth, and I'm not inclined to do that... 2 Just load the eboni K and enjoy the BO experience. An easy option... 3 Load the M ink in the Y chamber of the carts. Make a new QTR curve based on the UT-EEnhMatte-warm curve, but with the M ink curve assigned to the Y channel. I don't know exactly how to do this, but I guess it should not be beyond me, though the results are too warm for my taste. This seems like a bit of farting around, for a result I don't really want... 4 Give up... Your comments please, or other suggestions? Peter Marquis-Kyle www.marquis-kyle.com.au
