Re: [Digital BW] epson C86 printer

2005-08-16 by Scott McLoughlin

Exception rather than the rule. After letting my C84 sit for many,
many months idle I developed a nasty clog that I couldn't free up
with cleaning cycles (I was too lazy to try Windex and the like.) Once,
I bought a 2nd C86, I loaded the C84 with the Durabrite Epson inks
and it was fine after one cleaning cycle or two. So I sold it to a friend
for a nominal fee, and he's happily using it to this day.

Other than that incident, I've had pretty much trouble free operation
(knock wood). Just make a print every couple of weeks and it's fine.
Throw just about anything at it, tweak the sliders and it makes lovely
prints.
