Re: [Digital BW] Which B&W printer for my purposes?

What's QTR?

As I mentioned, I was also looking at the epson R800, but I think
the Matte black cartridge is used for text with the photo black
being used for photos, meaning it may as well only have 1 black
cartridge for photos.

I've had the HP 8450 recommended, but is that only 1 black ink as
well?

The Canon Pixma iP5000 seems to be the only other printer with
a 'photo black', though the normal black is used for text according
to a review i've read, with the photo black being for photos - so
again it's only really using 1 black for photos, if my understanding
is correct.

I know that I can't get spot on B&W and colour without spending big -
but I need better prints than what I've got now.

The i9950 does decent B&W from what I've heard....I'll be looking at
profiling my printer once I get it, if that helps.

I'm assuming that getting a set of quadtone inks and simply
switching the ink cartridges over when i need B&W or colour isn't a
good idea, correct?
