I have not found a UV blocking spray that doesn't lower the dmax of matte paper. Some of the water-borne coatings have UV blockers and can be put on thick, so they actually raise the dmax. They basically turn the matte paper into a glossy one. I find it easier to print on glossy paper in the first place if I want to end up with a glossy print.
