Uhhh, pardon my lack of knowledge on this piece, but why not try a little dollop of 5 minute epoxy? (my experience says to really, truly leave it for many hours just to be sure . . . but). This is supposed to be a technical list, certainly something as simple as jury-rigging permanently a couple of doo-dads shouldn't be that difficult?
