The C86, having only 4 inks, has noticeably more dots in the highlights than do the R200 or 2400, being 6-ink printers. I doubt anyone could see dots on these hextone printers without a loupe. Microbanding is usually a problem on the C86 only if the "Plain paper" media type setting is used. However, a small (hopefully) percentage of printers appear to have a microbanding problem, even among the more expensive ones. The quality control is far from perfect.
