John. I do know what I am talking about - I have a 4800 and have ordered and used the MK ink. For a short while after the 4800 release, the MK ink was the ONLY replacement ink available for the new 4800 simply because it is the old UC MK ink which of course had been in circulation for some time. There has been NO improvement in the matte black in K3 over the UCs because it is the EXACT SAME INK. This too is common knowledge and has been stated here and on the WF forum countless times. I know you've seen the posts. As you note yourself the printers using the new inks and the same MK ink have improved. Those printer improvements have led to better utilisation of the same matte ink. It really is that simple. Steve
