There is a small rubber stopper or "cork" -- it is usually clear -- that is often flush with the top of the cart. The stopper needs to be removed to fill the cart from the top. I use a small jeweler's screwdriver, like the ones that are used to tighten eyeglasses. I've been able to slip it down between the edge of the stopper and the hard plastic cart hole. Once it is down below the stopper level, I can pry out the stopper without damaging it. Be sure once the cart is filled the first time that you "prime" the cart by holding a finger over the small air inlet and while the stopper is still out of the top. The idea is to pull some ink down into the cart outlet. Otherwise there can be a persistent air bubble there. Good luck.
