David,

I don't have any answers for you but I do have a couple of questions 
if you don't mind.

Does epson know you were using CIS and other inks other than epson 
and then still honored their warranty? Did you run the unit with the 
Epson provided carts first before installing CIS and if so were you 
having the overspray issue then too? Just curious in case I face 
similar issues with my new 1280.

btw..apologies to all regarding the "handle" dogdrum7 that 
accompanies my posts. When I first signed on I didn't realize that 
typing one of my email addresses would cause it to become the default 
identifier. I have since tried to edit my profile and change it to my 
actual name but it won't let me for some reason. Also because there 
is another Tim here who preceded me I have added my last initial to 
my signiature to avoid any confusion.
