A certain percentage of the carts appear to be a few paper thicknesses too short, and a certain percentage of chips are bad. So, you should have some extra chips and save those off old carts for spares. MIS told me they just bought a chip tester, but I'm not sure what percentage of the incoming chips they are testing.
