Well that's complicated, and is an ongoing issue. In the current version it's called "distributed". For now let's say for my purposes using a double K it doesn't matter as at those densities you can't even really see dots. Certainly doubling up lighter inks, which I do for blends, it's possible that issue could be determined. I'd be more specific, but everything just changed with the new version and there is a lot of testing to do. Until I get to the bottom of it all I'm using old version 10 for quads, it does not do "distributed" and works fine for x600 printers, but there was lot's of bleed with 7000/9000 using double inks as they aparently put dots down differently. Distributed was supposed to fix this. > and And, can you control which dot is laid down first? No, and I have no way of knowing which is going down first. So the term "underprint" is not really correct. > Maybe I'm starting to see some of the 'good stuff' in SP. Things just got insanely more complicated. With each ink you can now control which of the 3 dot sizes per ink you want to use, and what percentage at each size. That's per ink, so for quads, per partition. A simple quad setup- 4 inks, density and percentage controlable with each, and within each of those 3 possible dot sizes to select any combination of, including each dot's percentage. Initial testing has yeilded a lot of failures and also a lot of promise. I've been able to get much smoother transitions, more levels of gray defined, etc.. but much more work still to do. Yikes...
