Short answer is that there is a tech.paper on the Epson corporate site that explains how the printheads work. I'll look for that link later this weekend. The really short answer is that the nozzles never close. When you put the Windex on the capping station, the printer should be off. Then when yopu turn it back on, the printer will suck all the (now) dissolved ink into the waste system, which will help to keep that free from problems too.
