With the printer off, move the gear on the extreme left toward you to
release the head assembly.  You'll see a little peg near the bottom of the
head assembly move down, out of the way.  Then you can move the head
assembly to the left.  This exposes the parking pad.  I use a syringe with
Windex in it to rinse the pad.  I sometimes use a paper towel to soak up the
Windex-ink mix on the surface.  

For unclogging a printer hear, it is sometimes useful to soak the pad and
move the head back over it so that the head sits in the Windex overnight.
