I have the Cone inks in my 1160. I did the full start up with the flu$h cartridge and all. Almost from the very beginning, my black head seemed to clog. When I run a nozzle check...I get a dash here and there on the black line, and get perfect check on all three grays. I have run the head cleaning over and over, I have done the Windex procedure...I have done the Windex procedure with Fantastic...I have even done the emergency, last ditch recommendation from Cone of removing the carts and using a syringe with a rubber tube attached...injected windex into the nipple of the black intake, and forcing windex through the head and then drawing it back out... I get the same nozzle check over and over. I have even bought new Epson carts for it and run the cleaning over and over (the Epson inks are suppose to have a solvent in them) NO CHANGE. same nozzle check pattern. Are the Cone inks the most prone to clog?? Should I just send my printer for service (new print head) and cringe at the repair bill (can't find a new 1160 to save your life)... I like the Cone system and software...but geez....$$$$$ for all. Their inks are pricey, and although I have over $300 in the software, it does me no good if all the ink does is clog my printer. Are there any dye based inks that are quadtone?? Is there any rumor Epson will produce quad sets for their printers? I own a 1160, 860, and 1270. I don't want to put the carts in my 860 and have it be ruined too...it's my day to day printer... I am ready to go MIS if there is less clog problem..it is frustrating to the extreme... Thanks...Steve
